I will give it a try, but I heard that it might be booked already. The sad thing I have been thinking that I should be making reservations for the past month, at least, but have not. Live and learn! Thanks a bunch.

Look at a map and try to stay somewhere on Shaw Ave or north of there but not out by Highway 99. Anything around Red Roof is nice and there are some nice ones around Shaw and Fresno street (41) I think. Those are good parts of town with shopping and restaurants. There is also a brand new Holiday Inn Express but I don't know if they take pets or not.

Thanks everyone. I booked a place off of N. Parkway. Hope that isn't a bad part of town. Now I am kind of scared! I tend to forget these kinds of things living out of town about 10 miles. I don't know Fresno that well either, but will learn as I go. I will see it as an adventure, not sure what my family will see it as.

I don't know anything about the quality of the Residence Inn, but the location is really good. You are right off the freeway and close to shopping and restaurants. The biggest mall is right around the corner (not that you will have time to shop) and there are several nice restaurants- BJs, Cheesecake Factory, Starbucks, McDonalds, Perkos, and a bunch more that I can't remember.
You don't want to stay very close to the fairgrounds, believe me! Fresno isn't too big so just about anywhere you'd want to be is 15-20 minutes from the fairgrounds and a straight shot down the freeway. Anything north of Shaw Ave. should be fine.

So Hey boys and girls...who's coming to convention?
Don't forget the party is at my house on Saturday night. I'll have fliers available at the show with directions. Last year it was a pot luck. I put a map on the flier with locations of places where you can pick something up on the way, or you can bring stuff from home. I'll provide some soft drinks, ice and the paper goods. You can bring anything further you'd like to drink and some food to share. We had a blast last year and are hoping for warmer weather and a bigger party this year!
