I had to cut down my prime show texel because of felting. She was almost Sr weight and I would have liked to keep her in coat for the CA Convention I put her in with two mello sows but she started to terrorize them. Chasing them and biting them. The two sows were so upset that I took her out. Then I put her in with a kiddie pool with four of my MEANEST SOWS that have learned to tolerate each other thinking that this would be a good lession for the little sow. NOT She chased them all around and jumped on them and pulled out mouthfuls of coat. Even my SUPER MEAN sow was running for her life. So I gave up and put her back in her regular solo cage. The next day I put her in with my most experienced boar. She tried to kill him. She actually climbed into the hay rack and jumped on his back, tore out coat and was eating it. It was like she could fly!!! He ran away to a far corner and just sat facing her and chattering his teeth. So I reached in to get her and she bit me in the hand. Then I had to get a leather gardening glove to pick her up and put her back in her own solo cage (with wire between to the next cage so she interacts with the pig next door). This animal has been handled regularly, has been on the table and examined numerous time (took 2 BOB at AZ Convention), groomed, weighed, traveled in the car, etc. Any advice would be much appreciated Mildred

Hi Mildred, have you tried putting vics on her and the boars nose and putting them out in the grass till it gets dark?? I know that has sometimes worked for me. I do however have a nasty american sow that I could never get bred (shes now 3 yrs old) or put in with anyone other than one sow (I really worked hard to do this) or she would tear them apart , she never bit me or anything but put her in with another pig and she goes psycho. I would also suggest a real aggresive boar. good luck!
