If you are talking about Upper Respiratory Infections....then you probably will have to take them to the vet. The antibiotic of choice is usually baytril, and so far I have not been able to find that without a prescription. The other antibiotics that can be used are bactrim and doxycycline...again you need a prescription to get the right ones. All the other OTC antibiotics are not suitable for use in pigs.
If anyone knows of a site that sells the correct dosage, I would like to know it. I just spent a bunch of money on a pig for a URI. The vet didn't want to touch the pig, was afraid he would bite, then declared that the pig had pneumonia and would die. (The pig didn't die, btw.)
Anyone know about meds...foy's pigeon site sells both doxy and bactrim (they call it SMP-TRIM or something like that) but it is made to add to water so I don't know what kind of dosage would work for pigs.
