Who all are planning on going to this show. I am planning on going and on bringing two of my pigs not to show but to get showing advice & to watch the texels showing.
Are there any special rules for watching the judging and asking questions?

I'm going too. I just bathed my pigs today and it is a good thing I did because there was a small abcess on the belly of one of them. I was able to take care of it and it probably will be all healed up by saturday. It was pretty tiny - about pencil eraser size and I would have just left it alone to heal on its own, if he weren't already entered in the show! Anyway, I'll be there and I'm getting excited.
As far as rules for watching and asking questions, there are a few. It is against the rules for the exhibitors to identify their pigs so don't ask anyone 'is that your pig' or any other questions about specific animals while the judges are around. Really while the judge is talking, any talking on the other side of the table should be very quiet so all can hear what the judge is saying. If the judge has time while waiting for an animal or class, you can ask questions. You can ask any time it seems appropriate, but remember that it will slow down the show if it interrupts the flow of the judging. Mostly I just like to try to watch quietly and listen carefully to the judges comments, and the way he or she compares the animals to each other. The best way to learn about what is good is to see it and hear the judge talk about it in person. The more judges and more often you can hear, the better, especially in the breeds you are working on. I usually just listen to my own breeds or varieties and then relax for a while. It can be a long day when you are showing but it is a lot of fun too. I hope they get a decent turn out for the show. I'm spending the night in Lancaster and I'm excited about that too! I need a little get away break. cathy

My sister and I are going We're really looking forward to it, and I could use the break too. We have mostly younger pigs for this show, so it will be fun to see how our newbies do -Amanda Storybook Cavies www.storybookcavies.com
